Oh, I’m a real worry! Old age and forgetfulness seems to be the order of the day.
Not so long ago I hung my washing in the wardrobe to dry.
Then just a few minutes ago the phone rang – so I picked up my coffee cup to answer it! Luckily the coffee had gone cold, as is usual, so at least I didn’t get scalded. I’m wondering what I will do next – any suggestions?
Oh, that should read 'helpful and nice' suggestions, otherwise, who knows what suggestions I might reveive!

Another ‘non-stop’ day.

The first panel was ‘The Series Question: Big Books Chopped Up or Small Books Glued Together’. On the panel were David Cornish, Kate Forsyth, Ian Irvine & Lara Morgan. There were of course many reasons for & against this & of course, the publishers having much to do with it.
At midday, I dashed off to get Trudi Canavan’s signature on my copy of ‘Priestess of the White’. She kindly signed my copy & someone obligingly took a photograph of us.
Took a quick lunch break with Gollum & then back into the fray
Of course the room I wanted was the one furthest away! This subject was ‘How To Review’, something I am not very good at, as you know. John Berlyne, John Clute & Dirk Flinthart were on the panel. I made lots of notes (in my now lost note book) but really came out none the wiser, although it had been very interesting.
I was going to the panel ‘Fantasy Plays of William Shakespeare’ but for some reason changed my mind & went to the Plenary to watch ‘Mission To Mars’. However, this was not a film but a talk by David D. Levine on his experience in the simulated space craft out in the Nevada Desert! He had a great sense of humour as he described his ‘mission’ & explaining about the film slides he was showing at the same time.
Another quick dash up to the 2nd floor to ‘Crowns & Swords: The Intertwined Worlds of Fantasy & Monarchy’. The panel consisted of Kate Forsyth, Glenda Larke, Duncan Lay, Mary Victoria, while Fiona McIntosh was in charge. It eventually became a discussion about who was a Royalist or not which of course seemed make a great difference in their writing.
At last, it was time for the ‘Hugo Awards’, the main highlight of the week. The auditorium was full & with a buzz of excitement. One by one, the nominees were read out & the winners announced.
As it was very late when we left, Gollum thought it best we share a taxi, just in case there was any trouble on train or tram. So very thoughtful of him
