update and rant . . .

Posted 27th March 2011 at 11:00 PM by StormFeather

Dad is doing well, but is being considered for a pacemaker. He’s bored, tired and I’m worried that it’ll knock his confidence for his future independence. Still – need to take the positives now and deal with the negatives as they happen.
As it was the weekend, and he’s not been short of family & friends to visit, I got to go on my best friend’s hen party. All I can really say about the evening’s entertainment is that it included an angle grinder, fake doves, the world’s tiniest motorbike,...

A brief overview of the stress – I got a call from my dad on Thursday morning, and could immediately tell that something was wrong. He admitted that he’d been falling over that morning, feeling drunk, and that his hands and legs weren’t working properly. I ‘dashed’ down to be with him – nearly 2 hours of driving thanks to a misguided tomtom, and got to his flat to find him disorientated, shaky in his walking...

Hectic, but what's new??

Posted 23rd March 2011 at 01:08 AM by StormFeather

Well, it’s official. As of the 31st May, I am no longer an employee of a London Council. Slightly scary really. Haven’t been without a regular monthly income since leaving full time education, and I’m struggling to find something that has the flexibility I currently enjoy, which enables me to take care of the kids adequately. Ho hum!
Been getting more creative, which is taking a lot of my time. Got a Lace-making kit – but it’s taking ages to spangle my bobbins! And, over the last weekend,...
