A Digital Prometheus

I donít like the idea of transubstantiation. Drinking my saviour.
Should I wet my lips? Take a gulp?

I donít like the letter Ďtí. They remind me of crosses.

No, I donít want to touch your wounds.
Itís not a matter of disbelief
But unease.

They weep and ooze.

Technology is my enemy. Photographs steal my soul.
Blinking lights, On-off off-on. Ones and zeroes.
A binary...

Word Count: 40,273

Something kind of spectacular happened in my brain. I don't know if other writers experience this but one of the great impediments to me writing has always been inertia. It's easier not to write than to write and I am, by and large, a lazy sort of animal. So I wouldn't write.

Somewhere around the 37,000 word mark of this story it was like a switch had been flipped in my brain. Inertia started working for me for a change. "You've made it this far it'd be silly to stop now."...
