I suspect it was something to do with the incredibly slow service when wanting to be served food and drink**, Mouse. Some folk obviously decided to bring their own provisions....
** - Not a joke: on the first day, in the "official" eatery, there were eight people supposedly serving drinks and collecting money for them (and the self-service food); they spent all their time talking amongst themselves and fiddling with the till (which was working, though this was hard to confirm).Posted 27th April 2012 at 03:17 PM by Ursa major

Oops! Didn't check here for comments. Sorry!
Mouse- she's my niece. I visited my brother after Eastercon and, scamp Florence is, she demanded I empty my bag of all books etc and let her use it as a new tent. Couldn't say no!
URSA- I'm not impressed by the eatery at the Radisson to be honest. I usually snack at the McDonalds nearby or the Premier Inn up the road where I stayed. There's also this cheap restaurant on a road behind the hotel. The decor is shockingly early nineties but the portions are humungous.Posted 29th April 2012 at 09:29 AM by J-WO
