    Old friends, new friends...........

Last month I met up with some old friends and we recorded some music for our band's next album. We posed for photos beside the river that passes our host's house, and spent the evening playing karaoke (I do a reasonable Johnny Cash, apparently). It's great doing things with old friends.

At the end of next week I'm meeting up with a new friend (she's flying over from Switzerland to play a gig in Brighton) we're going in search of cockles and jaffa cakes (not together, of course) and then spending a few hours in a recording studio (with a great view of the sea) to record more for that same album, with some other new friends. It's great doing things with new friends.

Lo and behold - today in the post I recieved the recordings that we made last month! The music has been edited down to 45 minutes, divided roughly in half, for our future double album. And I love it - it's excruciating and I love it.
I also got the full recording session, but haven't listened to that yet, the edited version is so good

(thinks - put this in a music category next time)

Yep, a double album. Probably on CD though, not vinyl sadly.

A few weeks ago I played piano, guitar, percussion, trombone, and some toys.
In Brighton I'll be playing percussion & keyboards, plus whatever other people bring that I can get my hands on (or not in the case of the theremin, of course)

It's on 16th August, but I'm not playing at the gig - my thereminist friend is.

    hehe - multi-unstrumentalist! That's a great word

    Oooohhh, a theremin.

I got to play one of those once, in a museum in San Diego. It was a great deal of fun even though I didn't have a clue what I was doing.
