excerpt from a forthcoming book on idling, my chapter dealing with idle creativity

Posted 20th September 2008 at 01:21 PM by Harpo
Creativity may take many forms, affecting and affected by all ten senses – the sense of humour, the sense of the ridiculous, the sense that someone is watching you, the sense of occasion, and the non-sense. These may include such obvious forms as music, dancing, painting, and cooking, as well as lesser/greater forms like kitsch-appreciation, getting away with it, juxtaposition, and the post Kool-Kat delirium.

“Let’s do a magazine” I said.
“Let’s call it GOAT” he said....

September diary

Posted 1st September 2008 at 09:24 AM by Harpo
We had an interesting month in August, eh? A heap of this that & of course the other, for most of us.

And now it's September, a new month. The last month of summer in the UK (I don't like summer, which makes the end of September the begginning of my favourite time of year)

Plans: Going to see some people next week.

War On Terror! (the boardgame)

Posted 21st August 2008 at 11:50 PM by Harpo
The people who made the War On Terror Boardgame had some legal trouble with music shop Zavvi, as a result of which they ended up almost bankrupt but eventually they won out, and had a heap of bonus sets of their boardgame.
To celebrate, they gave away about 100 copies of the game, outside the Oxford Street branch of Zavvi.
I was there for the entire time, it was great fun.
I even appear twice in the photos of the event on their website:

(copy and paste - nobody will notice)

Lo and behold - today in the post I recieved the recordings that we made last month! The music has been edited down to 45 minutes, divided roughly in half, for our future double album. And I love it - it's excruciating and I love it.
I also got the full recording session, but haven't listened to that yet, the edited version is so good
