The Royal Wedding...

Well here's the itinery for tomorrow.

Get up at 8. Shave, do hair.

Well it's not really DO. More like a comb over, like Bobby Charlton and a flash of hairspray.

Last thing is to suit up and boot up, adjusting tie and smiling to the mirror.

Then say good morning to wife, or ball and chain as she's affectionately known.

Dogs will get excited, wife won't. She'll probably moan, saying. 'Don't get too drunk and no fighting.'...

Patience...

Posted 25th April 2011 at 09:28 PM by Gary Compton

If I'd had patience I would've been a Doctor - bum bum

Anyway, I think I said somewhere on here that I'm going to finish editing my book and send it to John Jarrold.

Trouble is, my childish wish to have some sort of comment on the complete re-write, has got the better of me.

I'm sending him half

I'm hurriedly polishing, honing etc and will send in a couple of weeks.

Last time he said 6 out of 10.

The Blyth All Weather Lifeboat...

Did I mention I'm the webmaster of www.blythallweatherlifeboat.com.

We save lives at sea.

When the RNLI decided to downgrade their all weather lifeboat to a dingy, our dedicated founders, started fundraising and galvanising support.

I think it's six years, down the line and we're a very important resource for the Humber Coastguard on the East coast of England; we go from strength to strength.

If your flight crashes in the North Sea, it'll...

Allrite?

Posted 15th April 2011 at 11:33 PM by Gary Compton

Well! I noticed a thread by Ian Sales inviting submissions to an anthology he is editing and I thought, Why not, I'll give this a go.

6K words, it's a nice change to get a way from my characters so I thought I'd try something completely different.

Because I have never read a SFF novel apart from a couple including Day of the Triffids I thought maybe I would come up with something original.

So I have started to write a Challenger disaster/Roswell history...

Eureka or something similar!

Posted 22nd March 2011 at 08:46 PM by Gary Compton

Well I've been polishing my book with edit number ????

I have 100,000 words done and I'm getting happier by the day. I've deliberately left the last 20K to do once I have the rest as good as I can get.

I think I'll send it away to JJ to be edited but I might leave the last 20K in my head (whenever it might show itself to me)

Not sure if thats the way others do it but thats my way. To be honest I havent a clue what the end game is going to be.
