Phoo. Been a while since I posted here. Getting geared up for AltFiction - and hopefully seeing good people like MGIR, SJAB and I Brian again. Meanwhile, I'd wanted to go with a completed first draft of Malessar's Curse, just to prove that I could finish something (and, in my dreams, to hawk around....), but that looks like it ain't gonna happen. Not this year, anyway. There's about 15k left to write, and less than four weeks till AltFiction.

Blame the stress. Work hasn't been great...

the same, but different...

It's that time again - time for a crop of New Year Resolutions. Somewhat disappointingly, on reviewing last year's selection, I found that I had only satisfied 2 of the 5 - I went to AltFiction (and thoroughly enjoyed myself!) and managed to publish part one of the Empire Dance through Lulu and Amazon (and on Kindle too!). In fact, I also managed to complete the second volume as well, and part 3 is well underway (on 14k and slowly rising).

usually i can count on being able to get a few hundred words down during my lunch break. not much, i know, but over the course of two weeks (with an added afternoon plugged in at the library) that can give me a good 4000 words, if i'm lucky. and those numbers start...

i'm rejected! (critically)

Oh well, it was going to happen sooner or later. The good part of this is that constructive criticism came back with the rejection, so Cold Snap, just like Steve Austin and Jamie Sommers, can be rebuilt, stronger and faster than ever before.

Can't it?

end of an era (random thoughts on an entertainment giant)

well, that's the last great music star gone. (you can't put jagger or McCartney in the same bracket, i'm afraid). not since Sinatra died has there been such a furore - Cobain and Richey Manic were never mainstream enough for their deaths to burn the way Jackson's has. listening to Five Live last night, the coverage was almost hilarious as Richard Bacon struggled to not pronounce Jackson officially dead before it was absolute fact and several dozen anonymous talking heads fought with one another...
