Busy Week

Since I last posted, I've written a few thousand words of Sinterglass Road, which is going very nicely; for those of your who have commented on the forum thread, thanks so much for your feedback, and, yes, I have now introduced my Protagonist.

Don't get me wrong; I love writing. There's something about letting your mind sort of slip away and tap those keys for an hour or two, before coming back to yourself and seeing something come to life before you. Sometimes I go back and re-read what I just wrote and think Wow, did I write that?

After mucho heavy editing, I now have The Quintessence Machine down to... drumroll... 280K words.

Yay.

Now, I know that this is considered waaaaayyyy too long for a first novel (having abandoned Though The Brightest Fell for the time being) but I remain hopeful. I've had several agents bite, but I'm still waiting for replies from those with the full manuscript. Well, hello there; not too sure if this is going to garner any viewers, but it looks like fun, and I'll add it to my ever-growing collection of half-arsed blogs'n'such.

The name's Callum, although I write under the moniker C. Michael MacAlister because it sounds pretentious and that's just how I roll, baby. I write weird SF-F, which fall into the broad classification of "surrealist-alternate-history-alternate-physics-fantastic-Science-fiction", which is to say it's odd stuff....
