Re: Rock music died in the '70's

Last time I was invited to a Motorhead concert (a few years ago, I admit) they set up a complete stadium PA for a three thousand place hall, and used the previous gig's settings. Not only was it on the edge of feedback straight away, it was stupidly loud. So finally, I didn't see the concert; I listened to it through a couple of closed doors, where it was somewhat muffled but the level was good (and don't think I'm a wimp where level is concerned; I've mixed monitors for herd rock bands, and the level there's considerably higher than front of house) Some music ought to be listenes to loud, some very loud, but this drove more than half the paying audience out before the mid point of the concert; that's silly levels.
