In the past twelve months, I've produced two anthologies that are closer to 'novella' length -
Time Pieces Timepieces at 101 pages and
disLOCATIONS Untitled Document at 136 pages.
I've attempted to make them more desirable by having the collections themed, including original stories (8 in the first, 9 in the second) by well-known authors, and releasing the books as limited, signed-by-all editions.
Touch wood, the strategy seems to be working.
Time Pieces was launched in November 2006 and there are now less than 30 of the original 500 copies remaining
. disLOCATIONS has only been out for three months or so and we are already a third of the way through the 500 paperbacks and over halfway through the 50 hardbacks.
So smaller length anthologies
can work.
