I've stalked the forests with Martin, worked alongside Pug and Laurie when they were slaves on Kelewan, slipped through the sewers with Jimmy and studied the Talnoy with Nakor.
With these books you find yourself totally engrossed, really 'being there' - and when we lose someone we love (as will inevitably happen) it hurts.
I was really getting into the works of George R. R. (what an ego) Martin until he killed off damn near everyone important in the series in the third book. After that I just lost interest in his work. |
