| The Hiram Key I know that this does not qualify as either sci-fi or fantasy, but I'm intrigued by it. I'm still trying to complete my Artemis Fowl collection when I spotted this and since my Grandfather and favorite Uncle are both freemasons I got interested. Has anyone seen this? Is it good or anything? Need inputs... |

| Re: The Hiram Key It's another in the long line of Freemasons-And-Other-Groups-Are-Protecting-A-Great-Secret- And Here-Are-Some-Loosely-(If-That)-Connected-Clues-That -The-Authors-Attempt-To-Tie-Together-Into-A-Grand-Theory books that followed Holy Blood, Holy Grail. A much, MUCH better choice on the Freemasons would be The Brotherhood by Stephen Knight, an excellent look into the shadowy corners of Freemason influence. Much more rooted in tangible reality, without requiring the leaps of faith The Hiram Key requires of you. The Hiram Key is interesting if you're into the kind of religious conspiracy theory stuff Dan Brown snatched for his fiction with Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, but as a pure read you could do better. There are a SCORE of books covering these same topics. If you haven't dipped into this stuff before, Holy Blood, Holy Grail is the place to start. If that doesn't catch your interest, bail out. And if you read The Da Vinci Code and found "Brown's" ideas (all of which he snatched from this arena of nonfiction) hard to swallow, skip The Hiram Key altogether. |
