To protect yourself, you could try to send excerpts, I suppose. But you shouldn't treat him as
The Reader; for one thing, he's only one person. For another, he's the least likely person to buy your book: he'll have read it for free.
You must have your own doubts about sending the whole book, or you wouldn't be asking what we think about it. It would be best to be cautious.
