Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

well I have a little narrow corridor from the door to my computer and desk = then a bed in the middle - and then err well no more floor space after that!
Its cosy though! overstuffed - and only I can find things (most of the time that is!)

A typical Uni student then you have some of the same that I have, I have the some of the Bryson ones and the books by Pete McCarthy but they are on lower shelves.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

ahh Bryson I like - but I must admit the McCarthy is unread at the moment -- and thats my home house -- uni room is just as cluttered though with lessbooks (well less fantasy boooks!)
One thing I hate is that I still have a lot of collections to complete - Pratchet and Fiest are stitting there with huge bookcounts!

The top photo of mine ( the Pratchett shelf) is a 5 shelve one but the lower selves are text books and non fiction, and I have another bookshelf which is mostly Text books and folders with printouts from Wiley Interscience and stuff like that.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

ahh lots and lots of refrences then!
I must admit as I ahve gone through uni I don't aquire huge numbers of books - instead journals are constantly thrown at me (well the refrences for them - I then have ot go find and copy/print them off) I must organise them one day ......

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

The Journals are great. My uni gives us unrestricted access to most of the online journals because most of the students are external. I have 3 ring binders full of journal articles on just one topic and of course I keep them in case I need to use them again.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

Yep we get free access to most of hte journals - great thing is many of them are now online as well - which means they can't go walkies!
I mean to - in the last days of uni - go through thier catalogue and abusivly download as much as I can - for future refrence -- its a wealth of information -- I need a bigger hard drive!

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

well not reach a terrabyte myself - yet - but my photography will certainly take up that much if I keep going at this rate -- I currently never throw away a shot!

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

I have 1 1/2 years (then honours and phd) if I was to do it full time but I am only doing one subject per semester at the moment.

I don't often delete shots either

The sink is in my room (we all have sinks in our rooms) and mine is probably the tidiest room in Exeter -- I'm a very neat and tidy person (as people constantly remark when seeing my freakishly clean room). No harm will ever come to my books!

And speaking of which -- OR, expect a visit from me soon to clean up your bookshelves! I can't abide untidy shelves. Of everything in the world, bookshelves must be organised!

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

Here is one wall of the library;
Ace doubles and K Robeson (Doc Savage) bottom left, g through z on other shelves (abit more than half of the fantasy/scifi).

And a pic of Usless expressing his true feelings for picture takers;

Enjoy!

Agreed, mine are immaculate, and alphabetised, to boot. It's all the ones I can't fit on them that cause the problem...

Woot, OR! Any fan of Bryson is a friend of mine!
