![]() Saying that, though, I can imagine you eventually organising yours by size, then by genre, and then by author. ![]() 'Tis a very nice bookcase. Some very good books on it, too. "Nice one!", as they say. ![]() | |

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! I couldn't show my enitire collection - mostly because it's packed away, and some are at my mum's. I reckon there are at 4 bookcases worth, of varying genres, in my current flat alone. I mostly buy paperbacks so it doesn't look all that impressive either. It'll look good(ish) once I have my new bookshelves up.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! Wow, I'm impressed by all the photos of shelves crammed with books! Mine are all over the place at the moment, as I'm reorganizing. Hopefully I can get mine to at least partially resemble a state of neatness soon! ![]()

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! Here's my virtual bookshelves My actual books are on two different racks/shelves at my current house and some of the shelves have the books three rows deep - just wouldn't make for a good photograph Of course, the virtual bookshelf is not complete - I am currently entering the ISBNs for all my books into a program on my computer so that I can finally have a complete list of my books that can be updated easily and be imported into any online list like LibraryThing ...

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! I thought I'd make a little update on this thread, seeing as my collection has practically doubled since March (I can't stop buying books, it's an addiction...there I've admitted it! )Whereas before I had just my large shelf, now I've had to move my smaller shelf back into my room (at the expense of extra room to move around in, but all I really need my room for is sleeping and reading ) And, as seen below, those are already jam packed, so I don't know where I can store my books once those are full! Anyway, the first four shelves on my tall bookcase contain my fantasy books, all in alphabetical order, then the bottom shelf has my smaller science fiction collection (again in alphabetical order), then my horror books (mostly Stephen King!) line the top one and a half shelves of my smaller bookcase, then all my 'classics' fill the next shelf, and finally the bottom shelf contains the odd books that don't fit into the other genres. My, how I love my book shelves. I keep looking at them and sighing contentedly. ![]() Sorry the pictures aren't that great, they were taken on my mobile. And my cheeky CD rack is trying to creep into the pictures, it seems ![]()

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! Yeah, I certainly have got a small collection compared to most, although I'm proud that it's passed the 200 mark now, woop! But even if I had 2000, they'd still be neat...I hate messy bookshelves! And yeah, I certainly am a fan...the older hardbacks I picked up in car boots and charity shops, but as you can see I bought The Dark Tower five, six and seven (I love those books, they have beautiful illustrations) and Cell and Lisey's Story in hardback...I couldn't wait around for paperback, new SK books I have to have immediately. ![]()

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! I bought some library archiving software and stopped when i realised I was at 700 books and this was an impossible thing (mind you all of those were work related sigh....! Glad to note that I really don't have a problem...some collections are waaaaay larger). I have a thing against open bookshelves...dust, book mites ewww, and books aren't made to last forever. So my fantasy collection is currently in drawers and cupboards rather than shelves. I don't know if I could view books as a collection...I read a book within a day or so (I do work LOL) and rarely re-read them. I am trying to control the need to look at online library ordering websites and stick to the maxim of crate and give away every so few years the ones that I'm not so obsessed about.
