I wish I could find all my books, much less photograph them.

Very choice shelf mate, especially when I spot Leiber, Wolfe, Williams, Dick, Silverberg, Swanswick, Peake and Mirlees....

Ive just finished the Hobb books, and whilst I enjoyed them I might end up ebaying them, they take up too much room and I 'm not really a collector.

Thanks. Nearly everything on it has been read, just a couple to get around to, Lud in the Mist for one. By the way there is one book on the shelf that is definately not choice, I didnt notice it untill after I took the picture. My ex-brother in law bought me it for Christmas years ago, cant say I remeber reading it - any guesses?

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

I'm not sure if you can see them, but if they appear, these are pictures of the bookshelves in the living room/lounge/sitting room. We also have books in the downstairs loo, upstairs in a basket (overflowing with books), in drawers and there's also a bookcase in my son's room full to the brim with childrens books!

All of these shelves apart from the messy top one are doubled up with books, so there's books behind books!

If you can't see them or the quality isn't all that then I apologise profusely!

xx

NB: This covers all genres, not just Fantasy/Sci-Fi but they're dotted about everywhere so had to take pics of them all!

[EDIT]: EUGH! Just saw the quality of pics - sorry about that, would list all titles but might take me a while so won't! Still, you get the general idea!

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

i'm in a pretty sad state, because i currently don't have a bookshelf! most of the furniture i used to own i sold or gave away when i went overseas and i've STILL not gotten around to replacing it! i've just got a desk and a bed, that's it. but the first thing on my list is a big mahogany bookshelf and i shall have lots of fun arranging all my books on it at the moment they're all in boxes, except for the one's i'm reading. i've probably got two big moving boxes full of them. and i'm looking forward to being able to display all my signed books, my babies! pride of place will be my limited edition signed and numbered copy of Pornucopia by Piers Anthony.....

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

Here are a couple of the lawyer cases. I have 5 full lawyer cases. 6 seven ft tall paperback/2deep bookshelves. 26 boxes of pulps like Astounding, Amazing, Unknown etc. 35 boxes of Ace, Ballantine,.. pre 1960. 40 boxes of new readers and advance readers. And to finish I have about 45 reference books on Science fiction and Fantasy.
The trick is to hook your wife on the books also

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

Man alive, that's organised.

It must've taken ages!

-----

Here's my meagre collection, compared with some of the others.

Shelf 1 is younger adult stuff, like Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl.
Shelf 2 is mix and match of SFF and then other things.
Shelf 3 is another mix, with a bit of young adult dotted here and there.

The shelves numbered 4 are 99% SFF, with one or two 'normal' books just slotted in where there was space.

There are also one or two SFF books just around, like the complete Narnia tales on the top-right shelf.

The file is too big to upload, so I've linked it from Photobucket.

Sorry about the quality - I took it on my phone and had to downsize it from something mad like 2250x3000.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

Here is the first half of my collection, can only post 5 pictures per post, it's in a bit of a disarray at the moment though.

Hope you guys and gals don't mind the large pictures. :>

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection!

This is my tiny, tiny collection at University. I can't have many books here because, as an English student, I'm always being given books to read for my course, so I don't have much time (I do sometimes make time though ) and also I usually go home by train when it's the holidays, and books really add weight to a bag!
If I remember this thread in 2 months time when I'm back at home, I'll post my larger collection on my bookshelf in my room.

Here, I have...well, I think you can see what I have! Saki's complete short stories have creeped into the picture, it seems, but everything else is SSF. Oh, and not on the picture, but lying around, I have Lisey's Story.

Oh, and yes, that is a bag of sugar! It's for when I make tea
