Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! Finally got our bookshelves delivered today and I'm stoked with how they turned out. They're just treated pine and so not much more than the Ikea option which was probably next on the list and although it looks like one piece it's actually five bookshelves plus the corner table/hutch so if we had to we can move it/split it up and make it fit somewhere else. It's more or less exactly what we wanted, though it's funny how much it changes the feel of the area (it's pretty much the centre of the whole house). A lot of our books were put into boxes years ago when we first moved overseas so it was fun to pull everything out again, as well as the books there was heaps of bits and pieces we had forgotten about. With the storage and a lot of borrowing the collection itself is pretty decimated which to be honest I'm not all that upset about. Now that I know exactly what I've still got and what I've lost, I've a list of a couple of dozen books to hit the second hand stores with and that's just for starters .

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! My collection looks kinda weeny now! Quokka, does that giant Feast For Crows annoy you? Cos mine's the same on my shelf and it bugs me that it's not the same size as the others! Not that you can see it at the mo on my shelf cos I've had to start double layering! Here's mine: ![]() Plus I have another bookcase upstairs in my bedroom... it looks pretty similar!

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! The larger ones don't bother me too much, one the shelf anyway. I try to keep them all the same size and I definitely prefer reading them in normal paperback but there's a few of the larger ones mixed in here and there. With the Feast of Crows, I'd been waiting on it to come out in paperback for ages so when I saw that one second hand I decided to buy it, about two days later it was in paperback .The one that does bug me is Erikson's The Bonehunters, I like the other covers in the series and I'm not sure where I bought The Bonehunters but it's a different cover and not a great quality book.

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! Thought about it but seemed better to go by genre/sub-genre/what felt like it fit together for reasons unkown/what would fit. The right hand shelves are the non-fiction and my wife's books. I was suprised by just how much I'd lost but it's a nice starting point, give me 5 years and I'll likely have books two deep, stacked on top and the cuboard doors taken off to get at the shelves underneath .

Re: Show us you fantasy/ficiton-bookcollection! I'm pleased to see lots of King books (including the hardback version of Dark Tower...but upside down???? ) but not altogether? Sort your books out (or I'll have to come and do it )!
