| Re: Bonehunters GUESS WHAT? It was the middle of the night when I suddenly realised that I should have stated that Bonehunters was better than Midnight Tides, not Memories of Ice. ![]() So, I have not only confused myself but dear Nixie and all of the other Erikson fans, including the 'rocking Cal/Rane! ![]() Apologies to all... |

| Re: Bonehunters i know it's a daft reason, but i just don't like MT nearly as much as the other books (even gardens of the moon, which i decided i had to put below MT because MT is better written) purely because it was 800 (or whatever pages) when i wasn't reading about cutter/hedge/kalam/paran/karsa/everyone else. It's as simple as that tbh. it's a very well written book, brilliant new charcters introduced and the whole tehol/bug relationship had me in stitches. But with the format already taken by Erikson i was already having to put up with the fact that every time a book ended and one of my beloved characters was at the point of death/whatever i was going to have to wait at least one more book before i found out what happened to them. MT just aggravated that situation. It's just too stand-alone-ish (new word, read it here first. coming to the oxford english dictionary 2007 ). i'm sure once we return to lethar in reapers gale that i'll be pleased as punch to hear tehol and bug discussing the finer culinary properties of fried bats droppings (or whatever else bug found down the back of the sofa to cook for dinner. ) once the circle's closed and MT feels more like a proper part of the series, i expect MT will rise in my esteem. |
