Does any one else look aroud at what peple wear? I've seen some strange fads. There's one that's not strange but bugs me to no end: jeans bought with holes in them . What's up with that? NOt only are there holes in them but they are 20$ more expensive WTF. Seen anything weird or just plain stupid fashions.

Re: Strange Fashions Jeans with holes in and t shirts with holes in... That perplexes me too, why would u want to buy new cloathes that look as old as you are? Plus u could get a new plain t-shirt for alot cheaper and take some scissors to it. ![]() I dont understand myself.

On the other hand, I do sometimes wonder if all those boys - of whatever age - who like to wear their jeans with the crotch hanging somewhere around their knees really understand how abysmally horrible that looks. They have to hold their pant legs like a woman wearing an evening gown and holding her skirts up so that she doesn't step on them. |

Re: Strange Fashions Long ago I was quite embarassed by my dad... without his belt... jeans and too-much-undies! Argh! The brunt of jokes on the street. Almost thirty years on and it is 'all the rage'. Im just glad I never told my dad to change in any way ![]()

Re: Strange Fashions I often look at fashion victims and laugh, I'm a cruel sort of person when it comes to this particular subject and I agree that people should wear what they want to wear but be prepared to get some funny looks if you insist on wearing total tosh! My particular bug-bear at the moment is men in skinny jeans, why? It looks awful. Before this I groaned at the 'chav' trend and I have every right to do this as I'm from Romford (one of the hardest hit areas in the UK) and almost all my friends took note of this trend in one way or another (some people my brothers and I know were actually pictured on the chav website).... They provide me with much amusement to this day with their burberry caps, nike hoodies, phatfarm trainers, loose baggy jeans, bling bling and whatever else they choose to wear! It's all in the name of fun though, I'm not nasty. The only time I get snippety is if it's freezing cold outside and I see girls walking around wearing crop tops and miniskirts with their only form of protection against the cold being Ugg Boots - this is just wrong - do they not realise they'll catch cold???? ![]() xx

Re: Strange Fashions Totally agree. I am personally devoid of any sense of fashion. I wear the strangest things, but I team them because they're warm, or I like the colour, not because they go well together ![]() It;s crazy the amount people spend on fashion, especially chav stuff... I don't understand it.

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Strange Fashions I was surprised to see a guy on the train the other day around midday, about the same age as me (25), wearing black formal pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, black waistcoat, black suit jacket over one arm, a black bowler hat and sporting a silver-headed cane. Man I wish I'd had the courage to ask where he was going..... |

Re: Strange Fashions I'm afraid I must admit to loving fashion, although not necesserily in the conventional sense. I'm obsessed with my tights- all different colours froj lime green to purple and black stripes. I kind of like the skinny jeans fashion, but the last month or so I've put on a tiny bit of weight which I'm going to have to lose in order to keep my skinny jeans. I ntoiced the start of the skinny jeans fashion about two years ago now but it wasn't until about sixth months ago that I managed to obtain an affordable pair. I like lots of bright colours, especially in shoes. Those sound like interesting trousers, Amber, although I hope it wasn't real fur.

Re: Strange Fashions aww i quite like fashion i'm afraid. i too love bright coloured shoes. and i may well get shot for saying i recently purchased a pink skirt suit for work!!! it's great. i dont understand clothes by brands like morgan though, who call "style" plastering there name all over something.. i went to a dinner and dance with one of my old jobs once, and this woman was wearing a black 50's style circle skirt dress thing.. very lovely, i have one now too.. except this one was plain white, with the word Morgan in black test all the way round it.. so it looked like a blakc and white pattern.. i mean, really is there any need? ooh actually.. i don't understand these cropped smart trousers.. you know, with the turn ups and stuff.. i mean if you're going to wear smart trousers, wear smart trousers... not cropped. and they're nearly always boring.. i dont like boring

Re: Strange Fashions Hmm yes, this is a peeve of mine, but I'm abit brain dead at the moment. I have never been a slave to fashion (not least 'cos I can't afford to be.) But I like to be different. For example when I was younger I had loads of those tartan type fold over skirts (1995) and the Luna-esque plastic dummies, shells and mood rings **embaressment**. This was about the same time that the chav culture was taking off ~ Adasunshine, I complety understand where you're coming from :-)) ~ Kickers and Nike, Ben Sherman and Nickolson, bootleg trousers and those heavy movable clown pendants and burberry of course and CK one (I do like CK one though): Chav culture. I've never subscribed to it. I don't particularly hate it, I just don't do what everyone else is doing (I refused to read Potter up till I'd seen the first film par example) No, these days I much prefer just to wear cotten tops and jeans. The whole fashion for military style jackets is driving me berserk 'cos I need a new jacket! (I'm getting soaked in the bad weather) but all those buttons just won't suit me :-((
