Is anybody here collecting the x-files dvds? I haven't been, but I was buying dvds the other day and I got the season 8 one that came out last week. So now I guess I have to buy the rest of them, I'll probably get one every once and a while until i have them all. I miss the x-files, it's never on tv here anymore, I can't wait to be able to watch any of the episodes whenever I want. What one do you guys think I should get next, do they all have as much special features as this one? I love the game on it. What did you guys think of it? I thought season 8 was a pretty sweet season.

Hi melissa576, and welcome to the chronicles-network! Which one was Season 8? I can't remember which was supposed to have happened in which season anymore. ![]() X-Files was one of those variable shows - when it was good, it was really really good - but when it was cheesey, it was indeed. ![]() The conspiracy episodes were easily my favourites. The notion of a conspiracy within the government was one of the most accomplished plot-lines, and very well-executed - certainly the ones I remember watching.

I never could get into X-Files. I don't know if it was because the episodes I did attempt to watch just happened to be the not so good ones or if the concept itself just turned me off. It may also be because I'm not a huge Duchovny fan - something in his eyes really makes me not like him. In any case, welcome Melissa. I'm sure someone else here will know more on the X-Files to help you out. Also, most tv shows (especially those with big cult followings like this one) have websites with episode guides so that you can figure out which season holds your favorite episodes, etc. Just google x files and episodes and you'll find tons of stuff, I'm sure.

Hello, Melissa. Welcome to the forum. I've been a big "X-Files" fan, almost from the beginning. I kind of quit watching the last season or so - it just wasn't the same without a continuting Mulder presence. Just my opinion. (For dwndrgn - I'm making a differentiation between Mulder and Duchovny here; I really liked Mulder but I doubt, from interviews I've heard and read, that I would like Duchovny much.) I have some of the early episodes on video, but I can't afford to do the complete season things. Wish I could. Some of my favorite episodes were the cockroach episode ("Bambi? Her name is Bambi?), "The Postmodern Prometheus" (black and white), the episode about reincarnation (where it was claimed that Scully had been Mulder's father in a previous life - which fit), "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", the chupacabras episode (mostly because Fresno, which I live near, got it's own episode in this one), and any episode that the Lone Gunmen were in (it really, really ticked me off when they killed them off shortly before the end of the series). I also liked the clever way in which Chris Carter put cute little references to Bellflower, CA, where he grew up (which is close to where I lived for awhile). And, of course, I really liked the episodes that contributed to the show's mythology. There are also some episodes that I really hated. One was the one I mentioned before, when the Lone Gunmen got killed off. Another was the episode where there was that inbred family living in that house (I can't remember the name of it - it was the episode in which the sheriff was called Andy Taylor). It was a good, good show that probably should have ended about a season before it did. I really think that in forty or fifty years, "X-Files", especially the early seasons, will be regarded like the original "Twilight Zone" is regarded today - as a classic.
