Not sure on the medieval code of conduct in these cases, but if I remember rightly, the waited till after the babe was born before lopping the head off the woman. The child (sadly depending on the parentage) would usually be fostered off or raised as a ward of the court I think. If it was the child (male especially) of the king you'd just usurped however, a slight 'accident' might befall them...

Actually parfait (ithink i spelled it correctly) means perfect, then again a word can have more meanings then one so you could be right but i dont really think so. I think you are thinking of creme fraiche.

Perhaps we are reading too much into this- not that Martin doesn't sprinkle everything he does with subtle clues, but we can't be 100% sure after all...still, it's an interesting concept.

Where is this written? I don't recall this. In fact, over the years she has taken "precautions" so as to not get pregnant by either Robert, Lancel, the Kettleblack brothers, or Moon Boy.
