Brienna's "Last" word What do you think the word she screamed was? Anyone think we should have a poll? Just in case theres already a thread i wont add one but i thought possible "last" word could have been: Tarth Father, Mother Mercy Arya (Sp?) perhaps the only word that could grant her reprieve from hanging as everyone thinks she's dead.

Re: Brienna's "Last" word I'm not sure what she called out but I think UnCat already knows Arya is or was still alive at the time of the red wedding because the outlaws question Merret Frey on wether he saw Sandor at the wedding with either a boy or girl. still, yelling out Arya might of gotten a reprieve because they likely want to know where she is now.

Re: Brienna's "Last" word I go for the "Ice" theory as Stoneheart conveniently asks her the name of the sword and says no whe she says "Oathkeeper". It was right after this that she's ordered to be hanged. Question to those who actually put forward the theory: Does she even know that Oathkeeper was forged from Ice? Did Jaime know and tell het?

Re: Brienna's "Last" word At heart, I am a romantic... I think she called "Jaime." (which is what she did while semi conscious) And I reckon (no evidence) that she DOES die (ie the word she cries doesn't save her and she is hanged)... and THEN!!! Thoros (the "pink priest") breathes her back to life!!!! Regards, Dyffeg

Re: Brienna's "Last" word Any clue as to whose arms she had painted on her shield? Is this even important because GRRM does spend some time on this. I mean she even spends the night in Maidenpool for the woman to paint it for her.

Re: Brienna's "Last" word The device on Brienne's shield seems to be from the short story of Dunk... don't know the name of it. This was discussed somewhere, but I can't find it. I just reread Brienne's last POV. Perhaps she screams "Jaime." Doing so could be to proclaim her affection for the Kingslayer because when she dreams early in the chapter and thinks she's going to die she screams "Jaime." On the other hand, she may call out Jaime's name as affirmation that she will choose to kill Jaime for Stoneheart. The thing is... she's looking at Podrick Payne and thinking how unfair it is for him to die (she could care less about Ser Hyle Hunt). So I think she thinks of something to say that may gain a reprieve for Pod...
