It will be interesting to see how their story plays out. I can easily see new sensitive Jaime wanting to be more of a father/uncle to Tommen after seeing how Cersei ruined Joffrey and that might be developed in future books. Cersei would be seriously unhappy at losing control over King Tommen. There are definitely fireworks ahead for those two and I can't wait to see what happens!

| Re: The Valonqar Yeah, same here. Whatever does happen, I do hope Tommen lives through this. The kid is almost too goodhearted to live in Westeros, especially as a king, which has me worried. If push comes to shove, there really is no one to protect him. |

| Re: The Valonqar Perhaps someone will tell Cersei (paranoia or what) that to save Myrcella and Tommen, and prevent the fullfillment of the prophecy, she can off herself. Having another child would upset the applecart, too. Niether of those seem likely, so I don't imagine that little Tommen is going to make it. |

| Re: The Valonqar Yeah you can't help but feel for Tommen. He is too sweet for words. Prophecies often never quite turn out the way you expect though, and given GRRM's devious twisty-turny mind, maybe there's hope. |

I can't help but feel sorry for Tommen, because since Cersei is his mother and he is king, some difficult decisions may arise..

| Re: The Valonqar Is it my delivery? Do I need to spell it out? Am I not funny at all? I know child defenestration is not funny. So there's Tommen, unprotected, in his tower... Just like Bran... But Jaime will be standing right next to Tommen. Nothing? Ah, well. I must concede to Ursa Major as having the keenest with among us. |

| Re: The Valonqar I confess that I didn't get it, Boaz! Not everyone likes my jokes either...I guess that is a risk on message boards. Nobody can hear your tone of voice or see your facial expression, which I suppose aids me a lot in "real" life. We need icons for a slightly raised eyebrow, a minor pause, an extra dry tone, or an out and out goofy face. Is there a smiley for "pun to follow"? I do such good mimicry too. Sigh. All lost...sob. Ursa is ursinacious. |

| Re: The Valonqar I laughed when I read your allusion, Boaz. (I was even tempted to add to it by referencing someone of clouded parentage from The Vale and suggesting that Jaime might drop them like a stone, but couldn't think of anyone suitable at the time (or since)....) As well as, or instead of, occasionally using smilies (particularly the , to point out wordplay, but sometimes the , to point out other playfulness**), I sometimes add an ellipsis to the full stop (=period) to suggest I'm not being entirely serious (as above).(I won't risk basking in being called ursinacious as I - and I suspect everyone save for Eulalia - have not the foggiest idea of what it means. But I hope it's good. )** - Though don't look for consistency in my use of smilies. |

| Re: The Valonqar Although the inability to put a name to create the joke does show up my patchy memory of the books in some (if not all) regards. Given the possible imminence of ADWD, I really think I need to start my re-read soon. |
