Popup ads during films and TV - no don't do this to me - I find TV today generally lower in standard but I don't want to see popups in one my shows.

Also consider the effect of popups on the internet - no credable company really uses them as there are popup blockers in place - thus defeating the advertising. If give a choice a block of commercials is far more preferable - you can ignor them totally and boil the kettle.
