| Re: Sci-fi for tommorow I didn't watch much TV at all until the age of 12, because my parents didn't own a set. I do remember being scared witless by the original Battlestar Galactica, which was shown in Finland in the early 1980s (until the internet made it necessary, we rarely got any shows less than 2 seasons after it had aired in its original market). After that we rented a furnished house for a year when they were working abroad (1984-85), and that's when I was exposed to some 1980s Doctor Who, a rerun of Star Trek TOS and kiddie shows that marginally qualify as sci-fi, such as Knight Rider, MacGyver and Street Hawk.
When we returned, we moved quite close to my paternal grandparents, and there I watched a few favorite shows a few times a week. When I was 15 my parents finally gave in to the inevitable and bought a TV set, and after that I watched pretty much any sci-fi related TV show that was on. |
