Re: 300 vs 10,000 What, of loving the movies? Case dismissed... I agree that it was as close that we're ever going to get to a definitive movie-from-a-great-fantasy-work, but I think that the most frustrating thing is that it could have been almost perfect, but was let down by a few things that could have been so easily fixed....

Re: 300 vs 10,000 Except for the ending, it was followed fairly closely, some compression, some conversations moved around, a character deleted but replaced with an equivalent, but mostly followed the book in scenes. only movie in a LONG time that closely followed the book it was based off of. would have liked to see the souring of the shire as part of it though.

Re: 300 vs 10,000 I think PJ (together with Walsh) did a great job. Also, everyone thinks Wood is a Frodo mutilator or whatever, I don't agree. I think he pulled it off quite nicely. I can't really see which actor needed to be replaced.

Re: 300 vs 10,000 only Viggo! he should not have been the last minute call-up for Aragorn. They could easily have delayed filming his scenes, considering how long they were filming for, until they found a competent actor. Viggo has definitely gotten A LOT better as an actor since, but back then (7 years or so ago) he was rather lack-lustre.

Aragorn was quite a withdrawn character in the books for the majority of the time ,so I guess he acted accordingly | |
