It would be nice to get a Tyrell POV, since they are major players in the game. Maybe Willas Tyrell?

Re: Martin update

This may be off topic but since most people seem to think Theon is coming back, what do you think he will be up to? His POV always seemed to have a strange twisted brotherly love for Robb so mabye when he hears of the way Robb died, he will escape and bring about the end of Boltons and Freys. If it is Theon, I hope GRRM doesn't pull another Jaime but instead makes Theon become more "evil" in his quest for revenge.

Re: Martin update

Well since he is a prisoner of the Boltons I think he may be whining a bit and will give us insight to the schemes of the Boltons, who have the Fake Arya.

Re: Martin update

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Theon if it is him.
Obviously the first couple of chapters will just be him getting tortured...
But if he does manage to escape where will he go?
He has no support from the Iron Islanders, who view him as weak. He has no support anywhere else in the North (Theon Turncloak really has a ring to it, doesn't it? ), so in theory he has no where to run to.
Ha! Who knows, he may rush off to Dany as well - seems to be the trend at the moment

Re: Martin update

If the Boltons think of Theon as heir to iron islands they may not torture him but seek to ransom in return for support or surrender of the north.

The Damphair has no love for Euron and cannot support Asha but he may look to pronounce Theon as Heir.... maybe with help from Asha.. while Euron is away fighting!!!!

Yeah, these people just disappeared. It'll be interesting to see what sort of role Martin will have Rickon play in the end, and I want to see him again soon. He had an interesting development in Clash of Kings.

Re: Martin update

I wouldn't mind a POV from the King beyound the wall. I can't remember his name but I think it would a good pov.

Hmmm.... Humanraindelay, have you read AFFC?

Moving on- I think that if it's going to be Theon, it will be post-torture, when he's a broken man. Some time has passed since he was captured by Roose, and since fake Arya was sent on her way North. I think it will start off with him recognizing Jeyne Poole for who she really is.

I don't think Mance Ryder is actually in AFFC, is he?
I know he was suppose to be before the split and several people (you & me included it seems!) have read the sample chapter explaining his fate.
I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it though...

Re: Martin update

Keep in mind that Theon is one of few left who can identify all the Starks, not just Arya (or fake Arya, if you prefer). Assuming that the POV will be Theon, I think it will be interesting to see how he plays this knowledge. He can't let on to the Boltons that he knows about Arya, or that will spell his doom. He may also play a pivotal role in legitimatizing other Stark children.

Re: Martin update

Could the returning POV be Sansa since she was Alayne in Feast? Does she make her way north now that she's off the Eerye?

This is my first post and excited to discuss my favourite series with those who feel the same...

Interesting. It would have to be at the end of aDwD due to the parallel nature of the times in both books, but MArtin has said that aDwD will extend timewise past aFfC.

Exactly, that's why I responded without giving too much away. Suffice to say, I think a POV from Mance is highly unlikely.
