| Re: Angie Sage... Thought I'd resurrect a rather old thread!
I've finally got around to reading Magyk... I'm only 1 year and 4 months late... *slaps own wrist*...
I thoroughly enjoyed Magyk and am rather gutted because neither of my local Waterstone's have Flyte in stock... grrrr...
The story flowed brilliantly, you like the characters you're supposed to like and despise those you're not, her humour is rife throughout and it made me smile in many places, it even raised a few chuckles and although it did remind me of other books (Potter, Eragon, and even Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy) it didn't intrude on her own unique style and didn't take away from her own story in any way.
I mean no disrespect to the author when I say this but Magyk was the perfect gap-book, it was light, entertaining and just a wonderful tale. Perfect for those times when you need a break from the heavier going, more epic fantasies out there...
I shall be keeping a keen eye out for Flyte...
