Ravenheart

For christmas my brother got me a book by David Gemmell, Ravenheart. Its a hardcover and it looks excellent but I see some books in front of it in that series. Do I need to read those other titles first or can I just read Ravenheart and get the others at some later date?

Thanks,

Rahl

Re: Ravenheart

Every David Gemmell book can be read alone but ravenheart would be best read after sword in the storm and midnight falcon to give a good base for ravenheart. But I'm biased as I'm a big big fan

I agree with sanityassassin they all can be read alone but I would recommend reading the whole series in order because it really is great you'll love it

Re: Ravenheart

Ahh well I was having so much trouble finding any of this series before Ravenheart I decided to read it anyway and damn that was a good book! Gemmell sure knows how to tug at the heartstrings....

Re: Ravenheart

a great writer so you should try his others like the drenai and sipstrassi tales it took only one book to get me hooked on Gemmell and I've read everything since except his latest which is only a matter of time

Aye well my local library had White Wolf and Swords of Night and Day so I got to read a bit about Druss and of course Skillgannon. Also I have read Dark Moon and I liked Dacebut the part I remember the most about that book was the bard and his abilities to sing rotten food good again etc. For some reason I found that interesting.

I loved the part where Skillgannon is trying to talk Druss out of saving the girl and he says something like...

"You realize there is 150 men guarding her and they are all highly trained veteran soldiers that kill men for a living! This is maddness Druss!"

And Druss says back something like..."Well you do realize they will have to kill me thought, right?"

Also found Stormrider at my local bookstore I have yet to read it I really would like to get the first two now before I do.
