Watch This Space For those of you who have been somewhat tempted to read my epic but have been put off by the price of the trade paperback (I seldom buy them myself, so I can sympathize), the much more affordable mass-market edition of The Hidden Stars will be coming out in a couple of months. I didn't want to jinx it by mentioning it too early, but since they're listing it among upcoming books in the EOS online newsletter this month, I guess it's safe. However, to celebrate this momentous occasion, as soon as I have copies, there will be another contest so that I can give out a few of them as prizes. Of course they will be signed, and there may be other little extras as well. As before, the contest will NOT be limited to residents of North America. Far be it from me to discourage people from buying or ordering the book in the meantime, but if money is an issue and you're feeling lucky ...

Re: Watch This Space I'm not going to be putting any limitations on who can participate. Anyone who already owns a copy and wants to try and win one of the signed copies is welcome to do so. On the other hand, if there were enough interest, I could probably be convinced to run a second contest for people who already own the book, with signed bookplates and/or maps as the prizes.

Re: Watch This Space Boiling oil and cayenne pepper. Hmmm. It's an Iron Chef-style cooking showdown, then? I'm a dead set cert, in that case. Like the new avatar too, Kelp, though I had to look twice to check it was you...

Re: Watch This Space Trust the gentleman to take notice of a pretty face! (Unfortunately not an actual portrait.) I was getting tired of looking at the ship and the dragon, and figured other people probably were, too. And while actually in the market for something with a spooky old lady, I stumbled on this one and found it impossible to resist.

But since it's not my actual face (or art) it doesn't really help anyone's chances. On the other hand, compliments on the beauty of my children might well be effective, if I'd ever posted any of their pictures. | |
