| Which book should I buy? These books are available in the local book shop: Masquerade Soul Music The Fifth Elephant Monstrous Regiment I have enough money to buy only one of them. Which should I choose? And don't tell me it all depends, because I absolutely love all Pratchett's books I have read before. ![]() |

| Re: Which book should I buy? Well, it all depends... It truly does. Soul Music is a Death book, Masqyerade a witch book, The Fifth Elephant a Watch book, and Monstrous Regiment a stand alone. So, it depends what you've read, and what you liked. Myself, I'd go The Fifth Elephant, closely followed by Soul Music. |

| Re: Which book should I buy? Yeah, it's a close-run race between those two. I don't think I've ever even read a Witch book. Rincewind is good, and some of the stand-alones are classic, but you can't beat Vimes and Death. |

| Re: Which book should I buy? Well, actually I solved the problem of choice quite easily - I took some money from the 'do-not-touch-except-in-case-of-extreme-emergency-or-a-matter-of-life-and-death' box and bought both Soul Music and The Fifth Elephant. ![]() |

I hope you enjoy them more than anything else you might have done with the money. ![]()

| Re: Which book should I buy? Actually I did enjoy the books- sitting in my room reading them all night and giggling which made my parents question my sanity - they never understood what's so funny about Pratchett. ![]() |

Mind you, I ran out of parents before discovering Pratchett - still, I had Eric Frank Russell, and they never found that particularly funny, either. Glad you enjoyed them - so, needless to say, did I. Immensely. ![]()
