Lets face it Tom Baker was beloved, any person following him was just in for a very nasty time - so Colin baker... he had to play it very different to tom so therefor was the "nasty" doctor...
Have to say Chris played a nasty doctor far better...
But Colin bakers doctor was my least favourite, not becasue he played a snobish doctor - but that he just didnt have any likable qualities at all in his character - I think sylvestor Mcoy was considered on of the worst by sheer fact that by time he had taken on the mantle of the doctor the budgets ran to about the cost of a chewing gum wrapper and the script writers where phoning it in...
Still there where some interesting things in the McCoy episodes like the inference he wasnt actually a renegade timelord - till this point we'd all started to believe he was actually rassalon but hey ho
Theres a very serious chance that This is davids last series - I think I remember reading a blog someplace that confired he was only going to do three series so the race will be on for the next doctor I guess... some poor bugger gets to try to upstage david - though (and I know this is going to get some grief) I still prefer Chris in the role over David - for me possibly the best doctor (and yes I was around in the tom baker years) |
