| Re: Book1 : Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Don't worry Padders, I didn't get HP until the sixth book came out! I did try and read the first when it was published, but felt it was rather boring and too kiddie. I liked the later books much better when I was finally persuaded to read them when book 6 was just about to be published. Then I met my bf who's quite the fan, not enough to get up at midnight to buy the book, but certainly he's bought the last three on the day of publication. So I read them all before book 6, and pulled an all-nighter with that, even if it wasn't quite as good as some of the others. I read book 7 on Saturday (my bf was lovely enough to give it to me to read first, knowing that I read about twice as fast as he does) and now I'm re-reading the older books in order. Read both 1 and 2 yesterday...
On the second re-read, it was much better than I remembered. The foreshadows of dark things to come can be seen if you look hard enough. |
