Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...*DEFINITE SPOILERS*

First off, you guys are hardcore. 6 hours? I basically shut myself away from TV and the computer for all of Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday so I could read it w/o spoilers. Worth every second.

Now, my thoughts... with obvious spoilers.

When this book is made into a movie, I hope Grint has the acting skills to pull off Ronald Weasley, because I thought Ron finally establishes himself in this book. The part that gripped me the most was when he and Harry were trapped in the Malfoy's basement and Bellatrix was torturing Hermione. Ron's screaming her name over and over, frantically and helplessly, just struck a note with me. Ron was great in the beginning as well, following the advice of the book.

Like others, I would have liked to have known more on what happened to people, other than a scene by the Hogwart's Express 19 years later. Like, win or lose, the trio DID break into a bank. Was there any repercussions for that?

Alternate Ending:

Just my idea of an alternate ending/new beginning. -
The taunting Ron recieved from the pendant before he destroyed it stuck with him. During the battle of Hogwart's, Hermione is slain while protecting Harry. The battle concludes as it did, and over time Harry is remembered as the Hero, marries Ginny, has the family, etc. Ron? Has nothing. As his resentment grows, making him turn mad, he goes and retrieves the Deathstick. He uses it to find the ressurection stone, which he uses to ressurect Hermione. Of course, she is not herself and this drives him even more into insanity. Having had enough of 'hand-me-down' Ron, he makes his play to be the one in charge finally. He kills Harry, who never sees it coming, and takes the Invisibility cloak. Having killed Harry, the Deathstick is now his to command. Others join him (perhaps former Death Eaters), and in control of all 3 Hallows, the next generation has to deal with him. But unlike Voldemort, Ron is family.

Eh. Whatever. I'm just sad to see this end. Great read. Great series. It's finally good that an author writing fantasy greater than a trilogy actually managed to finish.
