Shurq Elalle!

Malazan... Book 5, 'Midnight Tides'.

Im a little perplexed by this character. Kind of a bit hard to stomache and a bit bellow the belt!!! There has been some reference to her desires, which I took to mean she does not have or seek the same 'desires' as 'others' (cant spoil it for ya, if your not there yet). Anyway, seems shes just insatiable without being satiated! What is going on!?! Theres talk of anticipation... I aught to have page marked my reference. For Ascendents sake, she isnt even warm! So how does she get away with it!?!?

*shudders*

and

*shudders* some more!

lol, whats your take on this 'thing'?

Re: Shurq Elalle!

Maybe I've just got a sick sense of humour but I loved Shurq,Her appetites after her treatment where something to do with the creature that was placed inside her if I remember correctly sorry if a little vague but don't want to post spoilers.Cal/Rane or Gollum will probably be able to give you a more eloquent answer

Urm... well, yeah. It's pretty vividly explained in the book, iirc. Its the animal that keeps her going... and in return, it needs to, urm, feed. Constantly
I must admit, its not my personal area of expertise
I thought Shurq made MT a great book. She was, if anything, funnier than Bugg and Tehol, though obviously in a more subtle way.

Re: Shurq Elalle!

Ah! Ok, thanks for the pointers there. There was reference to 'something' being introduced when Shurq was 'spruced-up'. Apart from all the cosmetics then... I see. lol
