| Re: Your favourite Malazan novel to date I've struggled with every book so far! I must admit that Erikson is a brilliant writer but I feel his 'fantasy' is not for me. Some of the characters have been wonderful, really great senses of dry wit...Anomander, Caladan Brood, Tehol and Bug and of course the Bridgeburners but how many have 'ascended' ? Reaper's Gale still seems as if it is a stand alone but with a few of the older characters popping up from seemingly nowhere into this place called Bluerose. Not sure how many times I have gone back through the book to see where they have come from. Maybe my memory is not as good as it once was!
I have never liked the Toblakai, to me they seem as if they belong in someone elses book.
However, I shall continue to read the series and hopefully find that at last I can enjoy and understand Erikson's work like most of you already do. |
