hmmm...
1) I think Wolf really is just an abandoned cub.
2) Ce'Nedra bonded with him - a lonely and injured 'baby' -while searching for her stolen child. Probably some sublimating going on there!
3) In Belagarath, doesn't Beldin mention attempting to change into an Angarak to see if the language of other races can be learnt that way? Is it possible Geran has a hereditary ability to speak wolfish, which is only shown through his relationship with the Wolf? Like children of bilingual households can learn both lanuguages by exposure?

Abbot, I don't think any prophecy's ever coherent! I think he left the holy scriptures in to show off (he admits it with the Nyissan text). Also to prove how much background he did before even starting out.
