A prequel with Berek Halfhand would be a good idea, but most of the tale has already been told over the first chronicles (I haven't read the second yet).
As for it legitimising the land, have you seen a programme called "life on mars" It was about a policeman who was hit by a car (similar to TC in the first book) and in the final series he gets back to the future, but we do not find if he was in a coma or if he had gone back in time. He manages to get back after seeing his mother (by jumping off a building), but it did not prove
weither it is a coma or not, so the prequel may not legitimise the Land.
