Well as I understand it Kelpie as moderator is not necessaily supposed to supply a answer unless there's no response within a given time frame of a couple of days. It's obvious she knew the answer as did I, hence my post...

I'll post something shortly so stay tuned...

Re: Trivia

OK can you give me the orginal name and "reforged" name of the sword used by Aragorn.

This should be pretty straightforward I hope *GULP*...

Re: Trivia

Can't remember the old name but I can remember the new one so I'll pass unless it comes back to me

Re: Trivia

A sleepless night... Is this question keeping me awake? I dont think so :P

Aragorn inherited 'the shards of Narsil' - Narsil being the blade wielded by Elendil... And the shards were forged anew at Imladris and the new blade was known as Anduril (though I dont know how it got its new name, or Id ask for someone to answer that for me :P )

Of course, I await confirmation (or not)! And forgive my earlier presumption of prompting 'Sanityassassin'...

Re: Trivia

I think that is right I couldn't remember the name narsil. Anduril means flame of the west if my memory serves me well.

No need to apoligise about the prompting

Re: Trivia

Ah, 'Flame of the West'! Thx.

Ok. Think of a poser...

When the Numenorians were at the height of their power, who was the King who Sauron knelt to on the shores of Middle Earth?

Re: Trivia

Oh, I misread the question. Sauron knelt to the king...

Ok, a bit of a stab in the dark then...

Ar-Pharazon was the king that took Sauron hostage. So, I guess Sauron knelt to him (and then corrupted the king).

Re: Trivia

Yes. I was refering to Ar-Pharazon. But should we have passed the question to another contestant? hehe, Im just kidding.

Let me find the relavent bit......
"The mightiest and proudest was Ar-Pharazon the Golden..."
"...Sauron was putting forth his might...and declared his purpose to drive the Numenorians into the sea..."
"Great was the anger of Ar-Pharazon at these tidings..."
"...he commanded Sauron to come before him and swear to him fealty."
"...Sauron assented as one constrained..."

Wow, the story really stirs me every time...

Re: Trivia

Indeed. It's the term for a people from the old Hobbit legends, which they only half believed. The Travellers did see them for real though. They are of course better known as the Haradrim.

Raynor's go!
