I think I better ask a new question...

I was looking for Ithildin, a substance made from mithril. It was better known as 'starmoon'.

Who was the first man that Frodo Baggins encountered after Gandalf send him on his quest?

I was about to say mithril , so I wouldn't have been far off.

isn't there a man somewhere in a romote hobbit house were Frodo passes, who later on takes over the shire?

cornelius I think you mean bill ferney the gatekeeper at bree which I think would be the right answer unless you count tom bombadil in the forest outside the shire

Bill Ferny is not the name of the gatekeeper at Bree, and the farmer with the mushrooms was Farmer Maggot, a hobbit.
