| WHispering Corridors 2: Memento Mori Whispering Corridors 2: Memento Mori Set in a Korean girls' high school, This movie is a kind of Romeo & Juliet meet Carrie...or should that be Juliet & Juliette since in this case the lovers, who also share a bond of telepathy, are star-crossed on account of their lesbianism. The movie manages a fairly credible portrayal of high school girls, on the threshold of adolescence: the clans, the possessiveness and petty jealousies, the tenuous bridging of child-like naivete and sexual awareness...there was a good potential to develop the concept of forbidden love and a doomed fragile relationship. But apart from a couple of decent scenes, the relationship between the lovers fast slides into a trite and sodden melodrama. There are also some supernatural elements, after one of the lovers dies pretty early on the movie, but these are quite obviously tacked on, employing the most cliched ideas and techniques and adding up to nothing till the climax which is a totally watered down version of Carrie's vengeful outburst. |

| Re: WHispering Corridors 2: Memento Mori This and Whispering Corridors were two movies I was thinking of buying but now I shall have to ponder some more before making a decision. Just out of interest, have you seen the first one? And, if so, how does it compare to this? |
