Hm you like heroic fantasy or high fantasy? High on magic or low on magic?
My fav fantasy writer is David Gemmell. He is know for interesting and flawed human characters. Great prose,world and awesome action. He is the best there is in heroic fantasy if you ask me.
If you want epic fantasy with politics,alot characters etc I would recommend Steven Erikson's Malazan series. Starting with Garden's of The Moon.
I think he is more similer to Hobb than Gemmell. But if you want great overall story better start with Gemmell and books like Legend or Sword in The Storm(Rigante series).
You must read both if you havent read them !! |
