Calvin and Hobbes I think I'm allowed to post this here as the forum is titled: Graphic Novels and Comics... I think that Calvin and Hobbes is so great. The drawings are good (show what it has to show) and if you see how Watterson draws dinosaurs and other animals when Calvin imagines stuff are just very good. The sense of humour is great, but there are also comics that are critical or contain great satire, and some make your hear break (friendship themes, mainly). What I also like is that Watterson never made any merchandise, if he did, he would have made a fortune, but he said that it was about the comics and not about mugs and flags. Anyway, who loves Calvin and Hobbes, too?

Re: Calvin and Hobbes No surprises that I love Calvin & Hobbes ![]() For me it was a very 'grown up' comic strip. Much more so that Hagar, Garfield and the rest of them. I loved the imagination at play, and many of the strips were about the sense of innocence & wonder which children view the world in. The single best illustration for me was the 4 panel strip showing Calvin & Hobbes playing 'soldiers' with toy guns and shoot darts at each other, effectively 'killing each other' and Calvin just says, "this is a stupid game" and goes back to Calvinball! ![]()

Re: Calvin and Hobbes Calvin and Hobbes was the best! My absolute favorite strip was one which is very hard to describe where Calvin goes out into the snow and you see his face contort...come to find out his boogers froze! That one still makes me laugh!
