I imagine it's much the same as the rest of the UK. Wet, overcast, and not a little friday-afternoonish Thanks for the welcome.

Hi Gothbarbie and welcome to chronicles.

I know we have a few other members from South Africa, so I'll believe you when you say you've got computers there.

Never knew you spoke the lingo Cornelius and YES it's nice to meet another South African Gothbarbie. My mother as born in Johannesburg and I have heaps of aunts, uncles etc.. there though never visited, so I hope you're enjoying your biltong and maybe your knob kerri could come in handy when battling dragons over in the Tea Room....

Re: Where in the world are you from?

Has it anything to say where we are from? I am from 3 countries to be exact England/Germany/Norway) but don`t feel really at home in any of them. The most boring part about that is, I suppose, when people start discussing WW2 with me and what an awful person Hitler was for that matter. Well, I`m sorry, I never moved in such high circles (also considering that I was born over 30 years after the war ended). Every country has done it`s bad and good things but some matters we seem to focus more on than others...
But enaugh of that, today we can say that the whole of Europe (at least the western part) is pretty much mixed, so all I can say for sure is that I am European.

We Pompey fans don't actually call them Saints - we call them something a little different, still beginning with S but ryhmes with drummers. There again, we don't hear much of them since they left the Premiership. Sad that.

Play up Pompey

Oh yes, I can tell, you're completely heartbroken!

Scummers I take it is the word you're referring to?????

I, myself, am not a Saints fan, I'm a Spurs girl at heart but my partner is Saints and so are my two boys so I've developed a soft spot for them and I've been to see Saints play more than Spurs!

Of course, Saints don't call Pompey fans by that name either, I think, if memory serves, it also begins with S and rhymes with gates.

It's funny, the silly nicknames you have for eachother!!!

Up the Saints!!!!

Anyway, we seem to have hijacked this thread and made it about the South divide!!! We'll get back to normal now...

As said before, I live in Salisbury but was born in East London/Essex borders and lived in Essex until about 4 years ago!

xx
