| Re: Where in the world are you from? Thanks for the dragon-lore! Yeah, super-jealous of the castle scene over in the old world... Interesting side note: my great great grandmother was a full-blood Cherokee. I didn't really inherit her characteristics (I have blue eyes and am very white), but it kind of connects me to the prehistory of this land. |

| Causa Scientiae | Re: Where in the world are you from? Certainly, it connects you, yes. In the same way, my lineage is of the Highland Clan, Donnachaidh, and my ancestors were Gaelic-speaking Highlanders, but I do not speak a word of Gaelic and live in the coastal city of Dundee. Despite that, I still feel very much connected to my ancestral history. I'm studying prehistory atm, so hopefully I will have the opportunity to learn more about the Cherokee, and other North American peoples. |

| Crooked Warden | Re: Where in the world are you from? It is interesting how people feel connected to places. I am of first fleet stock and my ancesters are from Wales, Hull and Ireland and even though I have never been over seas I feel drawn to Wales. Prehistory is very interesting, I am currently doing a degree in palaeoanthropology and archaeology its great fun. |

| Causa Scientiae | Re: Where in the world are you from? Cool! I'm doing a course called World Archaeology as part of my degree, it has a pretty wide-ranging focus. It's fascinating! What you are doing sounds great. One of the things I really wish we knew more about is the psychological world of the earliest societies........ |

| Crooked Warden | Re: Where in the world are you from? That would be great to know about their psychologies. some of the units that we can do are great, I have studied rock art, stone artifacts, evolution, evolution of human sexuality (that one is really interesting). Have you heard of Homo floresiensis ? the one they nicknamed the hobit? My lectures were on the team that discovered it. |

| Crooked Warden | Re: Where in the world are you from? Mike Moorwood was my lecturer for Aboriginal Archaeology and Rock art but I never met him as he was in Indonesia most of the time and peter brown was my lecturer for human evolution and paeloanthropology. I have spoken with him a few times. I think I have him next year for forensic anthropology |

Yeah well I am slighltly jeolous that you get to live in Scotland When my son was born the nurse who looked after him in Intensive Care was a Scot and we think that Scots are among the nicest people in the world (also you have Billy Connelly, Sean Connery and Ewan MacGreggor) |

| Causa Scientiae | Re: Where in the world are you from? Well, some of us are okay. ![]() A close friend of mine spent a year in Australia not long ago, and he absolutely loved it. He said he could happily live there, if it wasn't for the fact that all his friends are here. You sure you could put up with the weather, here? |
