| [Spoiler] The Blackfish So the Blackfish is out and I have been thinking where could he have gone. 1. Back the Vale- He was the keeper of the gate i think. The distance is not so great to travel. But does he know of Lysa's death? 2. The Wall- Two men of his, the blacksmith and some other guy took the black. That is a bit odd. It be nice for Jon to have some family around him. But distance is a bit troubling. 3. Across the narrow sea 4. Outlaw causing trouble 5.The faith These are a quick ramblings from me in class. Any thoughts? |

| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish To me, I think the most likely destination is the Vale for a few reasons; a) It's the closest help available (I don't think you can trust outlaws to help - especially as they seem to have gone completely rogue!) b) He probably still has allies/friends there who can help/hide him from the Lannisters c) If he has heard of Lysa's death, he may be considering approaching the new 'Lord of the Vale' for assistance (depends if he knows how much Petyr has done for "the other side" or not!) I can't see him going to the Wall primarily because right now there's a host of Northmen, Iron Islands and who knows what else between him & that goal! And he seems too pragmatic for the Faith |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish I wouldn't rule out his hanging around the Riverlands, organising loyal men and causing as much trouble as possible, or else waging a one-man war against the Freys (actually, that's highly unlikely, but one I'd like to see). But I think the Vale is probably the most likely option. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember Cat offhandedly remarking that Brynden was always there for her, Lysa, Edmure and Littlefinger when they were kids, so he might think to build on that relationship.... |

| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish Remember that when Jaime offered him the chance to the wall and told him that Jon was the new commander he was very suspicious, and asked jaime if tywin had arranged that. He also says that "catelyn never trusted him, nor theon greyjoy. It seems she was right about both of them." He won't have gone to the wall. |

| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish Imo, taking the Black, becoming a monk, or sailing over the sea means that Brynden has quit fighting... First, that's totally against his nature and second, he won't quit this current fight until he's dead, he's won, or he's put in a position like Ned (forced to break his honor to save his daughter, but since the Blackfish has no daughter...). I think he's going to be a guerilla fighter against the Lannisters and Freys. If not, then he's gone to the North to rally support against the Frey traitors. A remote possibility and one that we don't have any information on yet could be that Brynden is a Targaryen loyalist and that he's gone to join Dany. I think this extremely unlikely, yet I'll throw it out here just to provoke discussion. Think about it, do we know the source of the fight that drove Brynden from Riverrun? Could it be that Hoster and he quarreled over joining the rebellion? Question: If Brynden was against joining the rebellion, why did he not take up arms with Rhaegar? Baratheon Answer: He was still loyal to his family. He might not fight with them, but he would not fight against them. Targaryen Answer: Perhaps he did fight with Rhaegar and was pardoned by Robert. Robert was famous for his pardons and Brynden was Robert's foster father's uncle in-law. He did not go back to Riverrun to face Hoster's scorn after being on the losing side. I think the Blackfish's one desire is to see three heads on spikes... Walder Frey's, Roose Bolton's and the Kingslayer's. |

I definitely think that Brnyden must have gone to the Vale. He managed to build himself a good reputation there, and would still have a place there, I'm sure. He must know of Lysa Tully's death, and probably figures that at this point, it may finally be possible to rally the troops there, now that she's not keeping everyone close. If he does go to the Vale, however, it could be Littlefinger's undoing. Brynden will almost certainly figure out who Sansa is, and want to either protect her or use her for his own agenda. | |

| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish I hope the Blackfish gathers loyal rebels and meets up with unCat and her ramble and in an act of utter loyalty to the Tully name, finally kills her (for real), cleans out the "trash" of the outlaws (keeping Thoros of course), and organizes a guerilla force that becomes known as Blackfish Raiders or the Blackfish Rebellion (or some other "geek" name like that). ![]() Regardless of what happens, I hope he puts unCat out of her misery. -g- |
