| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish This an old thread but why couldn't the Blackfish have just sent of Robb's disguised wife when he was getting rid of extra mouths to feed and then have a fake one in case Riverrun falls. That way no one would go looking for her. Except him after he swims away. |

| Re: [Spoiler] The Blackfish I just had a thought that the Blackfish went to the Wall. In AFFC, Jaime went to treat with Brynden. Jaime made an offer, "I will permit you to take the black. Ned Stark's bastard is the Lord Commander on the Wall." To which Brynden replied, "Did your fahter arrange for that as well? Catelyn never trusted the boy as I recall, no more than she ever trusted Theon Greyjoy. It would seem she was right about them both. No, ser, I think not." On the surface it appears that Brynden distrusts Jon. But who was closer to Robb in council than Brynden? Robb never had a Hand. Brynden fulfilled the position left vacant by Eddard's death, Catelyn's motherly meddling, Karstark's betrayal, Greatjon's stupidity, Edmure's vanity, and Roose's distance. Brynden was truly Robb's closest confidant (aside from Jeyne) and advisor. If anyone knows Robb's plans concerning an heir, it is the Blackfish. If Robb named Jon his heir, then Brynden knows it. I think his disdain for Jon was mere pretense for the Kingslayer. |
