Thanks, the actual battle of Thermoplyae in my novel is viewed from several different perspectives. Leonidas has a small role. The connections between BARD and 300 consist of Historical details of the battle and a few known quotes.

The majority of BARD takes place on the Hero's Planet (BARD) and is about the war there against a mad king who wants to be master of the known Universe. It is also about Jealousy and revenge.

The main theme though has to do with the Hero promotion business...Bards were History's first PR men, as they sang in city and town of the exploits of the heroes they wrote about.
