The Younger Gods

If someone is interested. I found this in a brochure...

The attacs of the dreadful insect queen known as the Vlagh have been repelled in three of the Elder Gods' realms. Now, only the land ruled by the Goddess Aracia remains for the Vlagh to send her hordes to attac.
But while the Gods, their younger avatars and their human comrades have emerged victorious from all previous encounters, this time the Goddess herself may be their greatest foe - she craves worship and hates the idea of being replaced by a younger God when her time comes to an end ... and that time is aproaching fast.

The book The Younger Gods is supposed to be out in june 2006.

That actually sounds really cool, do you know if that will be a continuation-like what happens to Errand after he becomes god of the Murgos?

Sounds like even Eddings may have heard of the New Weird movement. If the Younger Gods is anything like the Elder Gods though, I know I'll be keeping away from it.

Re: The Younger Gods

Again very similar to all his other books, although reading between the lines, Eddings is very aware that his books are repeative, he even jokes about it.

Take all instances of names and swap them around a bit, add in a colder climate and talking bears rather than dolphins and you've got Crystal Gorge.

This next one sounds good, but I don't know... maybe I'll just borrow it from the library. Lost trust in Eddings yaknow?

Re: The Younger Gods

Crystal Gorge is actually quite terrible. I kind of enjoyed the Elder Gods and the Treasured One, but I'm on the verge of giving up on Crystal Gorge. Nothing's happening, and they say 'sort of' and 'advised' way way way too much

Re: The Younger Gods

I've finished the series.I have to say a big thank you to Mr Eddings, he may have finally cured me of my inability to leave a series unfinished. The Elder Gods must be one of the most annoying series I've ever read

I couldn't agree more. I can't actually bring myself to pick up Crystal Gorge again, although I'm more than 3/4 through. It's just too annoying.

Re: The Younger Gods

I am glad someone agreed on the issue with the elder gods.. I think Eddings.. though I like him a lot.. has gotten in a rut.... even when you really compare the belgariad to the sparhawk series... (sorry it has been a bit since I read them last) the plot is mostly the same he just changed a few things. With the elder gods.. it just goes on and on about the same battle from different prospectives and the story just stalls out.. I wonder if this is just the same as Steven king and Tolkien where you can make money just by putting your name on it
